Ty’Tiana said she used to get into fights and skip school. When she entered the foster care system, she didn’t see the point in going to school anymore because she was so far behind. FCA gave her rides to and from school to make sure she would attend, and she decided to do the work since she was there.
“FCA pushed me to go to school even when I didn’t want to and was ready to give up,” she said.
Just doing the work turned into attending special programs and completing extra homework to catch up, and now Ty’Tiana is graduating on time! She is planning to go into culinary arts with a goal of opening her own restaurant and serving a wide variety of foods.
Cooking reminds Ty’Tiana of her family. “We all cook, we love to get together and eat and be around each other,” she said.
