Family & Children’s Agency recently had the opportunity to visit with our district’s long standing Probate Court Judge Anthony DePanfilis to wish him well in his retirement from the court. In his over 20 years in the Norwalk-Wilton Probate Court, Judge DePanfilis presided over countless adoptions brought to him by FCA. Judge DePanfilis’ legacy in the court will include securing permanency for hundreds of children for whom he finalized adoption into their forever families.
In all the adoptions I witnessed in the Judge’s chambers, what always amazed me was that there was never one child that hesitated to go to the Judge, before that day a stranger, for a photo after the hearing. I believe each of these children were drawn to the Judge’s warmth and the way he made each hearing so personal, a true celebration of family.
We wish the Judge all the best as he continues on in his private practice and are thankful he will continue to serve our community.
