Family & Children’s Agency Receives $12,500 Grant from Near & Far Aid

Nov 19, 2018 | ASPIRE, Donors

Norwalk, Conn. – Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) has received a $12,500 grant from Near & Far Aid to support the Agency’s work with local children in the ASPIRE after-school program.

ASPIRE works with local middle and high school youth to bridge the opportunity gap by providing academic support, enrichment activities, social-emotional development, and parent engagement. The program consists of three components; an intensive after-school program for middle school students, a high school after-school program focusing on college preparation, tutoring, and gender-based programming, and a summer enrichment component to combat summer learning loss. Each year, 100% of high school seniors in the program graduate high school and continue their education with college or vocational training.

Because this vital program is funded almost solely by private philanthropy, Near & Far Aid’s grant makes a major difference in the lives of the young people served by FCA.

“As a long-time supporter of FCA and the ASPIRE program, Near & Far Aid’s support shows their dedication to imporving the lives of young people in our community. We are fortunate to have them as a partner in this work.”
