Addiction Recovery for Women (Project REWARD)


Family & Children’s Agency offers Project REWARD, an outpatient addiction recovery and mental health program for women. Through Project REWARD, a continuum of care is offered, including an Intensive Outpatient Program and a variety of outpatient treatment options. The program is designed to meet the specific needs of women in recovery and to provide the support and safety that an all-women’s program can ensure. Women who participate in the Project REWARD program receive:

  • Childcare for children age one month to five years (during program hours)
  • Transportation provided for participants living in: Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Westport, Weston, and Wilton
  • Medicaid and private insurance payment options

Evaluation and Assessment


Women who are referred to Project REWARD will meet privately with a clinician for a comprehensive substance abuse and mental health evaluation to determine the appropriate level of care. Other services include:
  • Treatment Recommendations and Referrals
  • Extended Evaluations/Consultations
  • Early Intervention and Engagement
  • Drug and Alcohol Screens
  • Hair Tests to Determine Long-Term Substance Use

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)


This level of care is for women who are actively working toward their recovery. The IOP program meets three days per week for three hours each day. The average program participation is 12 weeks. Program groups include:
  • Relapse Prevention Skills
  • Substance Abuse Education
  • Emotion/Anger Management Skills
  • Stress Management Techniques
  • Mindfulness/Relaxation
  • Domestic Violence Issues
  • Parenting
  • Health and Nutrition Education
  • Co-dependency Issues
  • Trauma

 

Additional Components of IOP:

  • Psychiatric Evaluation, if needed
  • Medication Management
  • Drug and Alcohol Screens
  • Case Management
  • Individual Counseling
  • Referral to a Higher Level of Care, if needed

 

Early Intervention Outpatient


Services provided at this level of care are appropriate for those who have completed our Intensive Outpatient Program, as well as women with long- term recovery. Outpatient treatment offers continued support and connection for women moving forward with their lives. Outpatient services include:
  • Individual, Group and Family Therapy
  • Psychiatric Evaluation, if needed
  • Medication Management
  • Drug and Alcohol Screens
  • Case Management/Employment Guidance
  • Anger Management
  • Aftercare Planning
